The Creator's Calendar

Astronomical timings and lunar months computed by the The Creator's Calendar method

“The sun and the moon follow a precise calculation.” [Ar-Rahman: 5]

Privacy Policy

Your privacy on The Creator’s Calendar is protected by design, not by promises: the site is a set of static pages that run inside your browser, and every astronomical and calendar computation happens on your own device. We run no user accounts, and we operate no server that receives or stores your personal data.

1. How the site works

The Creator’s Calendar is a static site with no server-side logic that processes your data. The five calendars, the solar times, and the moon phases are all computed entirely within your browser, using the astronomical data files (JPL DE441) downloaded alongside the site.

Because processing happens locally in your browser, your choices (city, date, time reference) are never sent to any server of ours — there is no application server to receive them in the first place.

2. Geographic location

To compute the solar times (dawn, sunrise, and sunset) precisely for your position, the site may request access to your location through your browser. This permission is entirely optional:

  • It is requested once, and you may decline it without breaking the site.
  • If declined, a default location (Madinah) is used, and you can pick your city manually.
  • The coordinates are used for computation within your browser only; they are never sent to or stored by us.

3. What we store on your device

To remember your preferences between visits, the site uses your browser’s local storage (localStorage). This data stays on your device and never leaves it:

  • Your selected city and the list of cities you recently searched.
  • Your preferred time reference (Khaliq or local).
  • Your display mode (dark or light).
  • A cache of calendar results to speed up re-rendering.
You can erase this data at any time by clearing the site’s data from your browser settings, without affecting any account (you have none) or any data on our side.

4. What we do not collect

The site does not collect any of the following:

  • Your name, email, or any personally identifying data.
  • Accounts or passwords — the site requires no sign-up.
  • Usage data or analytics (we use no tracking tools or visitor statistics).
  • Cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.

5. Third parties

In the interest of transparency, we disclose the external services your browser connects to when you open the site. We send them no personal data, but — like any web service — they may see your IP address and the usual technical data by virtue of serving files to you:

  • Google Fonts: the interface font (Tajawal) is loaded from Google’s servers, subject to Google’s privacy policy.
  • Font Awesome icons (via Cloudflare’s network): the icon set is loaded from Cloudflare’s content delivery network.
  • Cloudflare Pages hosting: the site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep standard technical server logs (such as the IP address) for operation and security.
  • External links: the app-store links and the map-based location picker are only activated when you click them, and then take you to their own sites.
We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing purposes, and we send no personal data to any of the services above.

6. Data security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) that protects your browsing from interception. And since your data stays in your browser and is never sent to a server of ours, we hold no central store that could be breached or leaked.

7. Children’s privacy

The site is general and educational in nature. It does not target children and does not knowingly collect any personal data from them. Since the site collects no personal data from anyone to begin with, it collects none from children either.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect any change to the site. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
